When you are shopping online for items such as electrical goods and fitness equipment, there can be a metaphorical minefield of different options and varying prices. You also often need to compare products from different companies, whilst ensuring that you get the service you expect.
We recommend that as part of your quest for a good price and satisfactory service, you look at some of the following sites as well as others offering similar services:
Once this search has been completed, you can check f the prices you have found are comparative by using a price comparison site, such as:
- Price Grabber
- Price Watch
- Google Shopping
and many more (search for your product or generically search for ‘price comparison websites’ to find more).
Make sure that you find your own best prices first and use the price comparison websites as a check/benchmark. Obviously go for the best value as long as the product sold and service levels are comparable.
For example, I was recently shopping for a treadmill. There were so many things to compare. The manufacturer’s history, speed, incline, running surface area, horsepower of motor, warranty, running surface area, belt thickness/durability and price were just the first things before I started looking for the best prices of the final few that I had chosen. This means that you can forget about some of the things you have seen whilst browsing and end up making choices that may not be best. When this happens, we recommend that you use the good old fashioned pen and paper. We suggest that you write down the model number (or unique identifier) of each product you see and beneath it a list of specifications/features that you can compare like for like. For example, a new line for each of the nine features of the treadmill example above. This allows you to produce a shortlist so that you can select the products that meet your requirements whilst keeping in budget.
Once this list is created, you can use some of the following online outlets for your own price comparison.
Please note that some of these shops are UK or US specific, but hopefully you will get the idea of what we are suggesting. Doing things this way may be beneficial as there are no other affiliates for the retailers to pay. You can also check if the place you choose to purchase the goods from offers cashback via one of the cashback sites/apps e.g. Quidco, Top Cashback and others.
We hope that you have found this list to be super useful. Click on the links given above to visit the site. Remember that this is just for idea generation. Always conduct your own thorough reviews first before committing to any purchase.
